Congregate dining provides hot, nutritious meals, which also meet the requirement of 1/3 of the recommended dietary allowance for adults, in a community setting for older adults and adults with disabilities. Congregate dining provides an opportunity to socialize with others, meet new friends and enjoy a good meal.
Each Area Agency on Aging can provide you with the various sites in their catchment area. Donations are requested for these meals. There are over 100 locations throughout the State where older people and disabled adults can enjoy a nutritious mid-day meal. Some of the sites serve meals daily, Monday through Friday. Other sites are open less often. Dining sites also sponsor programs on health, nutrition education and other topics of interest to older people. You can search for dining sites located near you. The community dining sites in this listing are funded in part by the Older Americans Act.
